The CCCC Theatre Department puts on its spring play this week

This week Cloud County Community College’s Theatre Department will be performing Charley’s Aunt. The play is April 12-14 at 7 p.m. in Cook Theatre. Tickets will be available at the door for $5. Students may attend for free. The production is directed by Stephanie Tschetter and will be her last production at Cloud County Community College.

The cast includes Tanner Earll, playing Stephen Spettigue, Benjamin Jacques playing Sir Francis Chesney, Westin Maisch as Jack Chesney, Chase Finch as Charles Wykeham, Zach Wohlbrandt as Lord Fancourt Babberley, Madison Troshynski as Brassett, Raven Roberson as Donna Lucia dAlvadorez, Rose Stokes as Amy Spettigue, Rachael Wood playing Kitty Verdun, and Payton Isaacson as Ela Delahay.

The play, which was first performed in London in February of 1892, is the story of two young men, Charley and Jack, who love Amy and Kitty. Amy is about to go away, and Charley thinks he may miss his opportunity to ask for her hand in marriage. Then he discovers that his aunt, a Brazilian millionaire he hardly knows, is coming for lunch. Now the aunt can chaperone while the boys ask the girls to marry them. Naturally, things don’t go as planned and Charley gets word of his aunt delaying her trip for a few days. The problem is solved when a friend of Charley and Jack agrees to dress up as Charley’s aunt. A turn of events happen which calls for a wild afternoon of mistaken identity, young love, old love, angry uncles, and one exotic aunt.

Come check out the play this week Thursday through Saturday at 7 p.m.!
