Topeka Sophomore Wins Student of the Month

Austin Naramore is the KVCO Student of the Month for April. He is from Topeka, Kansas, and a sophomore here at Cloud County Community College. He was nominated by Wind Energy Instructor Randy Gantvoort.

Gantvoort said that Austin deserves this award because he is a solid student who is very intuitive and willing to help other classmates.  Austin is involved in choir, theatre, and the wind energy program. Austin’s major is wind energy but more specifically he is focusing on blade repair and substations.

His favorite memory from Cloud, is learning about censors in the body and how he could compare it to wind energy. It really helped him gain more knowledge about his field. His favorite class here is intermediate airfoils. After Cloud Austin plans to pursue a career in Wind Energy. When Austin was asked about why he thought he deserved this award he said, “I say it’s because I’m involved a lot, and I clearly show that I’m interested and what I like to do. I just put in effort.” Austin is proud to have received this award. Congrats Austin!
