Cloud Men's Basketball Team Gets Homecourt Win

Cloud pulls away with big homecourt win in game's final seconds

On Saturday, February 6, the Cloud County Men’s Basketball team ended a 9 game losing streak by defeating Seward County 76-74. Cloud ended the first half on a 17-0 run and a 38-32 halftime lead. The Thunderbirds led by as many as 15 in the second half. Seward County came storming back late in the game by producing an 18-3 run in the final minutes to take a 67-66 lead. Down the stretch, free throws were key. Aamahne Santos made two free throws in the closing seconds to seal the victory. Conference scoring leader and Seward County guard Niem Stevenson led all players with 26 points. For Cloud, Devonte Dixon led the way with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Cloud’s next game will be at Hutchinson against the Blue Dragons on Saturday, February 13.
