Cloud County's Board of Trustees Votes to Keep Soccer

On Monday, November 30, the board members of Cloud County Community College decided to keep men’s soccer as an active sport. In recent weeks, many believed wrestling would take the place of men’s soccer. Cloud County’s President Dr. Danette Toone stated that Cloud County would keep men’s soccer and try to add a wrestling program in the next few years along with an additional women’s sport due to Title IX, which keeps gendered sports equal in team memberships. The final decision by the board was unanimous in favor of keeping men’s soccer and looking to add additional sports later on.  Many men's soccer players, as well as students, attended the meeting to show support for the soccer program.
